[미리보는 RFID/USN KOREA 2010] STMicroelectronics Introduces Dual Interface ‘EEPROM’

SEOUL, Korea (AVING Special Report on ‘RFID/USN KOREA 2010’) — STMicroelectronics (www.st.com) will participate in RFID/USN KOREA 2010 held at COEX, Seoul from December 2 to 4 to introduce ‘EEPROM’, a dual interface product that allows remote access. Is expected.

The new RFID-compatible ‘EEPROM’ can remotely program and update electronic products anywhere at any time during product life or supply chain. It enables manufacturers to update parameters, localize products or operate software without connecting a programmer or unpacking the product.

In addition, the M24LR64 EEPROM memory features a standard I2C serial interface to support communication with most microcontrollers or ASICs, as well as a standard ISO15693 radio frequency (RF) interface to support wireless communication with an RFID reader.

It can also communicate with a host system via an industry-standard I2C interface operating at 400kHz from 1.8V to 5.5V. It also employs a unique, flexible 32-bit password protection mechanism to protect applications against unauthorized tampering or prevent unexpected behaviors to memory.

Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics is a company that develops and provides semiconductor solutions across all areas of microelectronics applications, and is active in multimedia convergence and power applications.
