Oscar winner Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) will be a villain in the 25th James Bond movie alongside 007 cast member Daniel Craig.
This was announced by producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson and director Cary Joji Fukunaga on Thursday in Jamaica, without giving any further details about the role. Malek announced in a video message that he would make sure that “Mr. Bond does not have it easy”. The agent thriller is scheduled to hit theaters on April 8, 2020.
Lashana Lynch (“Captain Marvel”) and Ana de Armas (“Blade Runner 2049”) are also cast members of the film, which until now has no name and is still under the working title Bond 25. Next to 51-year-old Craig, a famous secret agent, Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright return to their role in past Bond films.
The press release, which was broadcast live on the Internet, took place in the Jamaican Oracabessa on the “Goldeneye” property, which formerly belonged to bond inventor Ian Fleming. There, the author wrote the 007 novels. Close by was actress Ursula Andress in the first Bond movie “James Bond 007 chases Dr. No »(1962) climbed out of the water on the beach and first met Bond (Sean Connery). According to director Fukunaga, the Caribbean island of Jamaica is one of the film's new locations alongside Norway and Italy.
