At the beginning of the year, Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 presented The Surge 2, a direct sequel to the 2017 sci-fi action film The Surge. On the eve of the announcement the NDA has been removed, and the web has the first gameplay video news.
Apparently, The Surge 2 will use Vulkan as the main API, which will appeal to many computer enthusiasts. As we have seen in recent projects, the Vulkan API provides excellent scalability and also allows the use of relatively old processors and video cards.
Resource PCMRace has released screenshots with graphic settings for The Surge 2. Users will be able to manually adjust many parameters, including textures, shadows, surround lighting, anti-aliasing, Ambient Occlusion, Subsurface Scattering and others.
The publisher plans to release The Surge 2 at the end of September (around 24 issues) on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gaming platforms.
