The COE for the prevention of Coronavirus and Dengue updated the official information on the provincial epidemiological situation and the prevention and containment works that are carried out throughout the territory of Catamarca within the framework of the fight against Dengue and COVID-19.
Up to 10 p.m., 16 new positive cases of coronavirus have been detected in the province of Catamarca. The accumulated total of positive cases detected amounts to 448.
Of the 16 positive cases detected today, all were processed by the Central Laboratory of the Ministry of Health.
The positive cases detected today correspond to Capital (3), Capayn (11 – Penitentiary Service agents), Pacln (1) and La Paz (1 – referred to Malbrn Hospital).
Of the detected cases, one corresponds to close contact with a confirmed case, 11 are contagious by conglomerate and 4 are under epidemiological investigation.
Until 10 pm, 3 new recovered patients were registered, corresponding to Capital (2) and the Salar del Hombre Muerto node (1). For this reason, taking into account the sum of cases recovered to date, 229 cases are considered active cases.
The Malbrn Hospital ICU has 2 patients housed: a positive case already reported and a positive case that was admitted today. Both remain with Respiratory Mechanical Assistance.
Important: as of today close contacts of positive cases in the Emas complex are being isolated. This decision of the COE responds to the need to preserve the rooms in the mild sector of the Carlos Malbrn Hospital for positive patients with mild symptoms or people who do not have suitable conditions to fulfill isolation in their homes.
