“33 the musical”, the super show about Jesus that “will change the world”

Madrid, Feb 28 (EFE) .- Telling the story of Jesus Christ through a sensory, fun and emotional experience is the objective of “33 el musical”, a show written by the priest Toño Casado, who assures that “the world will change” and “will make viewers smile again.”

The work, which will premiere next October, has been produced by White Kite Producciones and will be on the bill in Madrid, initially, for 4 months at Ifema, with the intention of becoming a super musical.

Casado, who is a composer who has collaborated on the soundtrack of the film “La Llamada”, now seeks to awaken empathy, solidarity and friendship with this musical, as he stated today during the presentation of this show, which aims to be an interactive function.

“Today people are angry and sad, today’s world has changed, therefore, we have to change the way we tell the story of Jesus,” the priest assured.

The musical is inspired by the 33 years of Jesus Christ, an age on which various elements of the musical are based: 33 songs divided into 2 acts, with 33 characters and written by the priest when he was 33 years old.

“He will be a Jesus close to the problems and realities of ordinary people, as a channel for transmitting universal values: he is a Jesus for everyone, also for atheists,” Casado added.

An outstanding concept of the musical is that, despite telling the story of Christ, “it is not a catholic work” has underlined Julio Awad, musical director of the project, because it is intended to be a “different experience” and “amuse to the entire population “.

The original soundtrack will be composed of 33 songs written by Casado who, together with the work, will launch a CD with musical collaborations by “renowned singers on the Spanish music scene” whose proceeds will go entirely to the Messengers of Peace.

The function will be represented in an Italian theater recreated in a vaulted tent, with a capacity for 1,200 spectators and which will allow 25 actors to be on stage at the same time, making it a multipurpose space, where “live the musical in very different ways”, he stated. the president of White Kite Productions.

The founder of Mensajeros de la Paz, Father Ángel, who attended the presentation, stressed that “it is a great satisfaction to be able to participate in such a special project.” And he ended up giving advice paraphrasing Pope Francis: “We must never go to bed without giving thanks” for the opportunities the world offers. “EFE
