62 new cases of corona in South Korea and Argentina exceed one hundred thousand, today Monday 13 July 2020 05:37 in the morning
History: July 13, 2020
South Korean health authorities announced today, Monday, that 62 new cases of the newly created Corona virus were recorded, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 13,479 people.
South Korea’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that no additional deaths had been recorded, bringing the total deaths to settle at 289.
The country’s health authorities are still concerned about another wave of virus outbreaks in the summer, amid a continuing rise in local infections and cases from abroad.
On Sunday, South Korean Health Minister Park Nyongo said herd immunity was “impossible” here, and he renewed his calls for citizens to follow strict hygiene measures until there were vaccinations for Covid-19.
The total number of people quit after complete recovery reached 12,204, an increase of 26 over the previous day.
In Argentina, Sunday, Corona virus infections exceeded 100,000, in an effort to contain the increasing epidemic rate despite the imposition of strict quarantine in the capital, Buenos Aires and its surrounding areas.
The Ministry of Health stated that it had registered 2,657 new confirmed cases of the virus within 24 hours, for a total of 101,066 cases.
The South American country imposed a strict quarantine in mid-March to halt the spread of the virus, and eased restrictions slightly in May, but re-applied it in late June in the capital and surrounding areas as a result of the high number of infections.
The number of deaths in Argentina reached 1845, in a big difference from Brazil, which witnessed more than 71 thousand deaths as of Sunday, as well as Peru, which recorded 11,682.
However, the number of injuries did not exceed one thousand except in early June, and it recorded at least three thousand daily during the last four days.
