85% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated in Bas-Saint-Laurent

On Wednesday, the public health of Bas-Saint-Laurent unveiled statistics in connection with the current vaccination campaign linked to COVID-19. Thus, 85% of the population aged 12 and over received their two doses of vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca).

No less than 89% of people aged 12 and over in Bas-Saint-Laurent have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. For 12-17 year olds, 93% received a first dose and 83% received two doses.


According to the most recent data transmitted to the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent, a new case of COVID-19 has been added in the past 24 hours and two cases have been deleted. There are currently 9 active cases throughout the Lower Laurentian territory.

The new case is located in the MRC de La Matapédia. For its part, the MRCs of Kamouraska and Rimouski-Neigette saw a case be removed from their balance sheet.

There have thus been 4,050 cases of COVID-19 in Bas-Saint-Laurent since March 2020, of which 3,988 have been restored. A total of 511 screening tests were performed the day before. No hospitalization is currently underway in Rimouski and there are 53 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the region.
