Merdeka.com – Bantul District Health Office, Special Region of Yogyakarta noted as much as 92 percent of the total positive corona confirmation cases in this area were asymptomatic people (OTG), or patients showed no complaints of symptoms of the virus.
“From the positive cases up to now our records are around 92 percent are OTG, others have comorbidities, some have hypertension, some have heart disease, there are other lung diseases, that are recorded on us,” said the Head of Prevention and Disease Control in Bantul District Health Office Sri Wahyu Joko Santosa in Bantul, Saturday (1/8). Quoted from Antara.
The total positive cases of Covid-19 in Bantul recorded on the social media page of the Bantul Health Office up to the last update on Saturday (1/8) amounted to 245 people, with a cure rate of 125 people, and six people died.
According to him, the majority of OTG patients were found to be exposed to the corona virus after a series of massive tests both mass rapid diagnostic tests, and PCR swab tests both targeting health workers and travelers from areas of high risk of the spread of Covid-19.
In fact, Sri Wahyu, who is also the Spokesperson of the Task Force for the Acceleration of the Covid-19 Bantul Management, said that the positive patients of Covid-19 who came from travelers or had a history of travel from outside DIY were around 40 percent of the total number of positive cases.
“But the 60 percent (positive case) does not mean another history, it does not. But these 60 percent are those who are in close contact with the traveler (who is then positive) or local transmission, so he is infected with the 40 percent,” he said .
According to him, so before the positive confirmation, the travelers contact with family, neighbors and friends of the environment where the person concerned socialized, so that from there the OTG case grew even more.
“But we don’t see where he is from now, because for the current distribution we are quite difficult to detect whether it is (positive patient) from a high-risk zone or from another place, we are now quite difficult,” he said.
According to him, at this time the Task Force could only detect and analyze that if those who were found positive had previously taken a trip which at the time of a series of checks was positive.
“So it is very likely that they got the infection from the beginning when he came into the DIY or Bantul area,” said the Spokesperson, who is familiarly called the doctor Okky. [cob]
