Overwhelming shots of the moment when a thief crawls slowly into a two-year-old's bedroom and looks towards the crib has been captured on CCTV.
Oliver Wallace, HR consultant at Warlingham, Surrey, lives with his wife Sally and two-year-old son Sam.
He said that during the raid two thieves stole jewelry belonging to his wife's mother, who died in a car accident in 2011.
Mr. Wallace saw the shocking offensive show up on his phone while he was in a pub in Stockwell, London, Wednesday, November 7th.
He was with his brother at the bar when his phone rang around 7:45.
Mr. Wallace said, "I was coming home and I was going through central London and I contacted my brother to see if he wanted to meet for a drink.
"I met for a drink in a Stockwell pub, while we get drinks that my phone beeps. We have this camera in the bedroom of my baby Sam.
"He said" movement in the room ", but I normally ignore him, because we are always inside and we are only us.
With my horror, someone was at home. Within a minute I had called 999, and I told them that a theft was in progress and they took the details. "
Oliver Wallace looked at the phone from the pub while a woman crawled into her son's room
The woman is seen looking towards Sam's two-year-old cradle as she moves slowly into the room
Mr. Wallace's wife and son had left for Florida that morning for a few days and the house was empty at the time of the offense.
He said, "I think it's been over a year since we were both out at 7.45pm, unless we've been on vacation, it's really, really weird that we'd never go out.
I saw this person crawl into the room. When you see it for the first time, it makes no sense.
"For a few seconds you do not understand what you're looking at, it's your home and there's a woman who enters the room.
Mr. Wallace says his son had slept in bed on the morning of the accident.
He said: "On a normal night, you would definitely be asleep in bed.
Mr. Wallace said that the jewels that belonged to his wife's mother were taken from his home in Surrey
"All I want to do is protect my family, and you feel like you've failed as someone has not only entered your home, but entered your children's bedroom."
The Surrey police said: "We are appealing to witnesses and information after a property in Warlingham was robbed Wednesday evening.
"The suspects got access through an insecure patio door, and then they continued to search the house, stealing a number of items, including jewelry.
"An offender can be clearly seen in the movie, and is described as feminine, white with long blonde hair, wearing a hooded top and jogging bottoms."
