A combination of mandates of Georges-Louis Bouchez called into question: “It’s not a blunder”

Since the summer of 2019, Georges-Louis Bouchez sits in the Senate while presiding over “Sparkoh!”, the former Park of Scientific Adventures of Frameries (PASS). According to Sightings, this combination is explicitly designated as incompatible by Walloon law.

Indeed, the magazine spotted article 8 of the Walloon decree relating to the status of the public administrator stating in these terms:The mandate of public administrator is incompatible with the mandate or the functions of: (…) member of the European Parliament, of the Federal Legislative Chambers or of a Regional or Community Parliament“. However, the Senate is indeed part of the federal legislative chambers and the PASS is explicitly cited by the decree among the legal persons that must be within its scope (art.3, 40°).
