‘Bambi’one of Disney’s most classic and oldest films, will also have a live action adaptation like many other films such as ‘The Lion King’, ‘The little Mermaid’ o ‘Aladdin’. These ‘remakes’ are usually carbon copies of the original but in ‘Bambi’ it has been decided to eliminate one of the most iconic scenes from the film.
The scene is the one that all children (and some parents) have cried with, the scene of the death of Bambi’s mother. Well, now a Disney screenwriter, Lindsey Anderson Beerhas announced that that scene will be eliminated in the ‘remake’ of the film.
“I don’t want to spoil the plot, but there is a treatment of the mother’s death that I think some children and some parents today would be more sensitive than in the past. And I think that’s one of the reasons why they haven’t shown it to their children,” he commented in ‘The Daily Mirror’.
“What’s interesting about ‘Bambi’ to me is that it’s absolutely a classic and it’s a beautiful love poem, very artistic. I think there’s a whole generation of kids who have never seen the original and that’s very different from, say , ‘The Little Mermaid’ or ‘Aladdin’ or the films from the 90s heyday that they have definitely already seen,” he explained.
“The thing is, it’s a beautiful movie. It’s a little different rhythm which I think the modern public is accustomed to,” he concluded.
