The combination of Ferrari and Germany’s famous Autobahn road system is about everything the owner of such a car could wish for.
Taking into account that on many sections of the German highway the speed is not restricted, you really feel that such a sports car is worth the money.
What we need to know about the Ferrari 812
The unit used for this test on the Autobahn is a Ferrari 812 Superfast model equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of delivering 800 horsepower and a maximum torque of 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
The 800 hp is delivered at 8500 rpm and the V12 can be forced up to 8900 rpm, and the power resources are managed through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
When it left the factory gates it was considered the most powerful Ferrari produced in series by the company and could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
The Ferrari 812 Superfast could go from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h.
Novitec upgrade
The example of the Ferrari 812 Superfast that we will see at work in the video clip received some improvements from tuning company Novitec and those who tested it particularly appreciated the exhaust kit installed on this car.
Although Ferrari fans might say that the 812 Superfast didn’t need any more modifications it seems that some owners have other ideas.
On the other hand, the Ferrari 812 Superfast modified by Novitec used for the speed test had 165,000 kilometers on board and these figures are surprising for such a car.
At 351 km/h on the Autobahn
As I said in the opening of this article, the purchase of such a Ferrari model seems justified under the conditions of use on German highways.
From a legal point of view, only some sections of the Autobahn can be driven at any speed, and it is not known how long this will be possible.
Until then those who can afford such cars do their best to get to Germany at least a few times a year to enjoy the horsepower they paid so much for.
