Ewing's New Jersey police officer, Daniel Bannister, was arrested for allegedly killing his 3-month-old daughter on December 5, the authorities informed.

A first autopsy had determined that little Hailey died of blunt head trauma, including a skull fracture and a subdural hemorrhage, the NJ.com website reported.

Later the investigators decided to do more testing for the girl, which is why it was determined that there was enough evidence to accuse Bannister, aged 31.

The man who is an Ewing police officer from 2017, was suspended with pay just after the girl died. And this Wednesday he was arrested.

Even the child's mother, Catherine Bannister, 29, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree charges for endangering the welfare of a child.

"The nature of Hailey's injuries indicates a continuing pattern of abuse," Mercer County Attorney Angelo Onofri said.

According to NJ.com, Hailey's death was announced for the first time on a GoFundMe page created on December 7th with her mother's name.

These 11 mothers were convicted of murdering their children
