Less than a year after its launch, it seems that the PlayStation 5 will receive a new model towards the end of July that includes some changes to the interior parts.
Specifically, it is a review of the PlayStation 5 in its digital version, which appeared for sale in various japanese stores. This is identified with the number CFI-1100B (the current one is the CFI-1000B) and one of the most striking details is the weight, since this model is 300 grams lighter than the original. The 2020 digital PS5 weighs in at 3.9 kilograms, while the new design is 3.6 kilograms.
On the outside, the console looks exactly the same as the original, so the changes must be internal parts. The only external change to highlight is that of the screw with which the base is adjusted to put the console in a vertical or horizontal position.
A minor change model of the PS5 main unit, shipping will start from the end of July.

Outside of the above, there are no further details of the console and everything indicates that it will be a revision like many of those that occur throughout the life cycle of one of these devices. It is worth remembering that, in previous generations of PlayStation, several models were also launched (identifiable by their serial number) and most of the changes were in internal parts.
Instead, there are other revisions (generally called Slim) that change the look of the consoles and that may also exist in the future of the PlayStation 5. However, those redesigns always appear after a few years since the platform gets for sale.
Hopefully this new digital PS5 comes with an increase in stock of the platform. The PS5 in general is always out of stock around the world, in particular the model without an optical drive has been the rarest of all.
