Commerce » Swiss retailers generally reported a satisfactory sales volume during the promotions around Black Friday. Demand held steady from a year earlier, various retailers said.
“The promotional days went well (…) even the merchants who did not take part in them benefited indirectly”, indicates Dagmar Jenni, director of the Swiss Retail Federation. Many retailers also saw sales “above their expectations,” she notes. This corresponds to a trend noted during a survey carried out previously by the umbrella, which shows that consumers are reducing their daily purchases and are more inclined to wait for promotions to shop, in a context of general price increases.
Manor saw its sales remain stable in its department stores while growth was recorded online. ats
