A 6-year-old girl died Tuesday in a public hospital in the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in the southeastern state of Quintana Rooafter being pressed in an elevator while being transferred on a stretcher to the hospitalization area.
The little girl was admitted to the General Hospital of Zone number 18 of Carmen beach of the IMSS, when they transferred her on a stretcher that did not fully enter the elevator, so when the button to go up was activated, the minor was pressed.
In a video broadcast on Twitter, you can see how hospital staff try to rescue her without success, which ultimately led to the death of the little girl.
In a statement published hours after the events, the IMSS lamented and expressed its condolences to the relatives of the little girl and reported that the minor was receiving adequate care for her condition, without giving further details about it.
He also said that the institution “provides and guarantees comprehensive support for the family from the very beginning.”
