A woman admitted to Asturias with cerebral thrombosis after being vaccinated with Astrazeneca

A 55-year-old woman who has been diagnosed with a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from Oxford, AstraZeneca, a case that is already being investigated by the Principality of Asturias Health Council.

The woman has been admitted to the Hospital Vital Álvarez Buylla, in Mieres, and is stable, as reported this Monday by the Ministry of Health. Faced with this new case of thrombosis, it is being investigated if it saves a possible relationship with the coronavirus drug.

Astrazeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine administration was suspended from precautionary form in Spain on March 15 after several cases of thrombosis were detected in people who had received a dose in several European countries. However, following the report of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which assured that the vaccine is safe, the use of the drug was resumed nine days later.

Its about first case of cerebral thrombosis which is being investigated in Asturias among the nearly 25,000 people who have already received the AstraZeneca vaccine in the community, which in Spain has been provided to 1,722,791 people.
