Joel Kinnaman has landed a role in the new version of the series In Treatment which will be broadcast by HBO. Variety reports that the actor has already started shooting.
The series centers on therapist Dr. Brooke Taylor and three of her patients. In addition to her patients’ problems, Taylor, played by Orange Is the New Blackactress Uzo Aduba, also keeping her own life on track.
Kinnaman plays Taylor’s ex-boyfriend who suddenly reappears in her life. The 41-year-old Swedish actor is best known for his leading roles in the series The Killing and the movies RoboCop in Suicide Squad.
The original version of In Treatment was broadcast by HBO from 2008 to 2010. Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest then starred in the series. In Treatment is based entirely on the Israeli TV series Be the Type. It is still unknown when the new version of the series will be shown.
