Acute Hepatitis Is Getting More Outbreak, Mangga Dua Village Holds Prevention Socialization

JAKARTA, – South Mangga Dua Village, Central Jakarta held a socialization in preventing acute hepatitis.

The Head of South Mangga Dua Village, Agata Bayu Putra, said that this activity is a form of handling infectious diseases, especially in conditions of widespread hepatitis whose cause is unknown.

“Alhamdulillah, in the southern Mangga Dua sub-district, there have been no cases. Hopefully, it can be maintained by increasing socialization to residents,” he said, quoted from a PPID press release by MPI, Sunday (15/5/2022).

This counseling is also an education for residents to know and add insight related to this Hepatitis disease.

“First, it was carried out in RW 05 because it is one of the densely populated RWs which is included in the medium slum RW. Hopefully, this disease does not exist in our area,” he said.

The head of the Sawah Besar Health Center, Tuti Widiastuti, said that this disease had actually existed for a long time. The cause is viral hepatitis A, B, C and E. Especially for hepatitis that is currently on the rise, the exact cause is not known.

“The symptoms are more towards the gastrointestinal tract, such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, then if the severe phase continues, liver function disorders will occur, marked by jaundice. In the severe phase, seizures and loss of consciousness occur,” he said.
