Aeroflot's aircraft caught fire in Sheremetyevo


MOSCOW, May 5 – RIA News. Passenger planes Moscow – Murmansk returned to the Sheremetyevo airport due to a fire on board, a Rosaviation source told RIA Novosti.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that after take-off the aircraft reported communication problems and requested a return to Sheremetyevo. He added that during the landing of the plane there were difficult weather conditions, so he was able to only sit by the second approach.

The representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported to the agency of the six passengers involved. According to the UK, one person died and four were injured. All 78 passengers were evacuated.

Interlocutor RIA Novosti added that the fire destroyed half of the aircraft, now the fire has died out. We are talking about the "Aeroflot" Superjet 100 aircraft.

A source of the Federal Air Navigation Agency stated that when the plane was landing, the aircraft hit and the engines subsequently caught fire. Previously, an emergency service source reported that the cause of the fire could be a malfunction of electrical equipment.

Investigators from the Moscow Interregional Investigation Department of IC transport left for the accident scene, the circumstances and causes of the accident were investigated.

SC has initiated a case of breach of air transport safety regulations, resulting in the death of two or more people.
