Researchers have developed a new type of voice assistant. In the true sense Because Q is the first artificial voice without a name, that is neither male nor female.
Some users may accuse voice assistants, such as Alexa, Siri or Cortana, of using female voices too often. This could strengthen sexist stereotypes. But critics like these intelligent assistants don't stop there.
An inclusive initiative
Because other observers indicate the defects of these programs in terms of inclusion. In fact, non-binary individuals (neither men nor women) could feel excluded, rubbing only male or female voices.
That's why the Danish developers have come up with Q, to non-gender digital voice. To achieve this, they recorded dozens of entries and determined the ideal frequency spectrum of a gender-neutral voice.
For now, Q is not really a voice assistant, it's just an online interface. If you are interested in this experience, you can visit the Genderless Voice site. And react on this in the comments, to make your voice heard. Whatever your gender.
