But the festival organizers didn’t expect the enthusiasm of the festival goers to be so high.
Li Jiange, Deputy Head of the Dongxihu Business Bureau, told him CGTN that they were overwhelmed by the arrival of thousands of visitors.
“Many places that serve beer and food sell out in just half an hour. So, we doubled (the stock) the next day, but things were going fast again, ”said Li.
Organizers said they cleared the venue for the festival each day before the event began and health workers monitored the crowd.
Wuhan gradually withdrew its quarantine for 76 days and imposed strict restrictions in April to control the spread of the corona virus.
Global Times said the park in Wuhan, which reopened in June, was taking measures to protect the safety of visitors and employees including conducting temperature tests and sterilization.
They also limit the number of visitors to half their capacity.
China initially controlled most of the coronavirus outbreak through a series of large-scale quarantines and restrictions.
But “Panda” has recently seen a spike in new coronavirus cases in Xinjiang and Dalian City.
Both regions have enforced strict rules against the spread Covid-19.
