The Italian national team reached the semi-finals of the European Football Championship, after its victory over Hungary 2-0 in the capital, Budapest, on Monday.
The two goals of the European champions, who are absent from the World Cup Qatar 2022 for the second time in a row, were scored by Napoli striker Giacomo Rasbadori (27) and Inter player Federico Demarco (52).
Thus, Italy topped Group C with 11 points, one point ahead of Hungary, to join the Netherlands and Croatia, waiting to complete the box on Tuesday after facing Spain and Portugal.
Germany and England bid farewell to a draw
In another match, England and Germany exited the tournament with a 3-3 draw at Wembley Stadium.
England’s goals were scored by Luke Shaw (71), Mason Mount (75) and Harry Kane (83 from a penalty kick), while Germany’s Kai Haverts (67 and 87) and Ilkay Gundogan (52) scored.
Thus, the German national team finished its campaign in third place in Group C with 6 points, while England were at the bottom of the standings with three points.
