The Confederation of African Football announced on its official website that Sadio Mane has donated a large sum of nearly half a million pounds to build a hospital in his hometown of Bambali in Senegal.
According to the African Union website, Manet decided to help build a hospital in the village of Bambali, where he was born, because there was no hospital there.
The African Union stated that Mane, the Liverpool star, had previously donated nearly 250 thousand pounds to build a school in the same city, and that the 29-year-old met last week with Senegalese President Macky Sall to discuss the hospital project.
A statement issued by the presidency of Senegal on Twitter: “Manet presented an ambitious plan to build the hospital.”
Mane is considered one of the most prominent African players in recent years, especially since he, accompanied by Egyptian Mohamed Salah, led his English team to crowning the 2019 European Champions League and the English Premier League 2020.
