JAYAPURA, Voice of Muhammadiyah – One of the matches at the XX PON event in Papua is Pencak Silat, which was held at the Toware Jayapura Sports Center.
Tapak Suci as one of the Ortom Muhammadiyah that is involved in the sport of pencak silat also contributes its ability to defend their respective provinces.
The struggle of the Tapak Suci athletes was extraordinary, so that in the final medal for the pencak silat sport, the Tapak Suci athletes managed to win 4 gold, 3 silver, and 12 bronze.
“Thank God, thanks to everyone’s prayers and support, Tapak Suci is currently the GENERAL CHAMPION in the Pencak Silat Sports Branch at the XX PON in Papua,” said the General Chairperson of the Tapak Suci Central Executive Afnan Hadikusumo to Muhammadiyah Voice, Tuesday (12/10/2021).
One of the Tapak Suci cadres who won the gold medal at XX Papua PON is Fransika Sandra Dewi. The pencak silat athlete representing Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regency, South Sumatra, became the best in the women’s 70-75 kg F competition class.
Reported by Muba Update, Frasiska was able to beat Siti Nur from East Kalimantan in the final at the martial arts venue of GOR Toware, Sentani, Papua, Tuesday (12/10/2021) afternoon.
Fransiska said she was grateful to be able to present a gold medal for the South Sumatra contingent. “Thank God, I was able to win a gold medal,” said Fransiska.
According to him, the key to success in winning a gold medal is to always appear all out in every match. “Always pray before the game and fight in the game. You can’t take your opponent lightly and you shouldn’t be afraid, you have to look your best,” he said. (rpd)
