According to G. Briģis, it is no longer possible to slow down or reduce the number of sick hospitalized patients, therefore the Latvian government will inevitably have to decide on new restrictions in the beginning of October. According to the professor, the restrictions this time should be extremely strict and not adopted gradually as before.

“The government has to decide what radical measures need to be taken against the unvaccinated population,” the professor said.
The professor added that in overcrowded hospitals, COVID-19 patients will also have to be admitted to wards for other purposes, which will negatively affect patients with other diseases.
