The musician, composer and one of the founders of the rock group The Devils, Beloved Jaen, died this Tuesday night at the age of 74. He had been suffering from cancer for months and last week he underwent surgery. Jaén is behind one of Los Diablos’ greatest hits, a ray of sunwhich was composed under another title by two French authors but adapted with new lyrics into Spanish by the recently deceased musician.
Besides, Jaén was bassist of Los Diablos since its founding in Hospitalet de Llobregat at the end of the 60s and author of other of his legendary songs such as ‘Fin de Semana, ‘Oh oh July’, ‘Heated‘ or ‘Rosana’, among others. She also composed the song ‘And only you’ that participated in the festival of Eurovision 1981 in Dublin representing Spain. In addition, he made songs, both as a composer and producer, for other artists, as well as tunes and music for advertisements.
Another unknown facet is its adaptation into Spanish and Catalan of the songs from cartoon television series such as ‘El Inspector Gadget’, ‘Los Caballeros del Zodiaco’, ‘Daniel el Travieso’, ‘Dragones y Dunmorras’, ‘Los Diminutos’. ‘, ‘El gato Isidoro’, or ‘Los Snorkels’ among others, also in Catalan broadcast by TV3 as ‘Bola de Drac Z’ or ‘Musculman’.
