(NASDAQ: AMZN) is working on the conception and development of a series new products and services in his Lab126 department. This device acts as the perfect smart home control panel that can be used to activate devices, locks and lights. In addition, built-in user interfaces in this device can display widgets for weather, timers, calendar appointments, and photos. The Echo, which is controlled by Alexa, has an almost 15-inch display, can be wall-mounted or stand on a table with a stand.

Heimroboter

When this device hits the market, it will be a low-volume, high-cost device. Amazon has been developing a household robot for many years. However, there are doubts as to whether the device will make it to market, so much so that Amazon co-founder and chairman Jeff Bezos has raised concerns about its ability to function successfully.

Soundbar

Amazon experimented with a version of the soundbar that comes with a front-facing camera. The tall, horizontal device that transports sound through the room, i.e. a soundbar for TVs, caught the attention of Amazon. Despite the availability of third-party Alexa-powered soundbars, the tech giant is confident that its version of the device will offer users great value for money.

Portable push

Amazon is considering making a major push in the wearables space that will be different from the recently launched fitness tracker Halo. According to the report, the company is considering introducing a model for children and another for seniors, with features like fall detection and activity monitoring. Bloomberg reported that Amazon is developing a wearable for children. However, the development of both models is still in the early stages.

New chips

A team of experts is working on new custom chips that will be used in future versions of the Echo. The company wants to ensure that its software fits well with its numerous device categories. Fully dedicated processors can help improve AI skills and this could be an advance on the technology the company is using MediaTek Inc. (OR: 2454) has developed.
