President Andrés Manuel López Obrador present to the Senate of the Republic a request to carry out a Public consultation in which the population is asked about the possibility of prosecute the last five former presidents of Mexico.
“Our decision is to deliver a letter to the Chamber of Senators for the consultation of the people of Mexico on the possible prosecution, within the framework of legality, according to due process, of the former presidents of Mexico from 1988 to the date”.
The head of the Executive signed the document in the Treasury Room of the National Palace and said that the letter will be sent to the Upper House at 11:00 hours.

Accompanied by the Legal Counselor of the Presidency, the Chief Executive stated that he had information that the citizens who had collected to sign for the consultation have managed to collect 2 million signatures.
However, to be “more certain”, he decided that he would apply himself.
“I considered it important to also present this letter to have more security about the request for a consultation of all citizens.
The president said that he has already established communication, both with the president of the Senate Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, as well as with the president of the Political Coordination Board, Ricardo Monreal, who will receive this letter.
