A federal judge released the arrest warrant against Jesús Orta Martínez, former Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC-CDMX) and 17 other people, who are now wanted for the crime of organized crime with the purpose of committing operations with resources from illicit origin, the amount of which amounts to almost 2,500 million pesos.
The first police versions indicate that elements of the police went to the home of Jesús Orta to arrest him, but did not find him, so he is currently in the capacity of “untraceable”, like Frida Martínez, who collaborated with the former secretary, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong and with Jesús Orta in the Federal Police.
According to the case file, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) investigates 19 people as a result of a complaint filed by the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection. The investigation detected a diversion of resources and irregular purchases of patrol cars, aircraft and spy technology and software at a surcharge.
They asked for orders against Orta on Saturday
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) requested on Saturday a Control judge, based in Almoloya, State of Mexico, issue arrest warrants against 19 former officials who worked in the Ministry of the Interior, in the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto.
Among the accused are the former secretary general of the defunct Federal Police, Frida Martínez Zamora and the former secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico City, Jesús Orta Martínez, who also served as secretary general of the PF, between 2012 and 2014, office in charge of managing the corporation’s economic resources, and as general director of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, federal sources reported.
The FGR links them to the alleged diversion of more than 2 billion pesos from the item of Public and National Security Expenditures, detected in various audits carried out by the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF).
Claudia Sheinbaum, in a conference, said that this was one of the reasons for Orta’s resignation.
