Another six-cylinder is leaving the Czech market. After just five years, the electric car field is clearing

There are (not only) fewer and fewer engines with full displacement and five or more cylinders on the Czech market. Another successful V6 will disappear at the end of this year.

The Kia car company presented a flagship sedan Stinger in 2017, the same year it was available on the Czech market. The base was turbocharged gasoline and diesel four-cylinders, but the top of the engine was a 3.3-liter six-cylinder engine. Modernization three years later reduced the range of aggregates. Despite the emission limits, only one remained in the offer – surprisingly, a six-cylinder! Why not, in the Czech Republic alone, eighty percent of customers reached for it.

However, after six years, the story of the six-cylinder (and the entire Stinger) is coming to an end. The combination of a twin-turbocharged V6, an automatic and four-wheel drive, which was able to reach 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, will soon clear the electric car field. Kia plans to close customer orders for the Stinger GT by the end of this year. So you have the last few days to order without exaggeration.

Starting in 2023, the electric Kia EV6 GT will take over the role of the Korean automaker’s flagship model. This is certainly not an uninteresting car – two electric motors deliver a system output of 430 kW and 740 newton meters of torque! The battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh and a range of 424 km. Thanks to the 800V on-board technology, the car can be charged from 10 to 80% in just eighteen minutes at the fast charger. However, the acceleration is even more respectable – the sharp “six” can do it from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. And it calmly continues at 260 km/h. Impressive, but we will still be a little sad after the six-cylinder.

Compared to the civilian EV6, the GT also has a modified chassis, powerful braking system and optimized steering. “The EV6 GT is the ideal car to take over the baton of the Stinger model in the Czech Republic. The brand’s strategic plan focuses heavily on electrification and plans to offer 14 new electric cars worldwide by 2027. The EV6 GT is an important part of this plan and the new flagship for Kia.” says Aleš Barna, CEO of Kia Czech. Sales of the powerful Korean electric car started here at the beginning of October, and the automaker has already registered 50 customer orders. So good luck!
