San Francisco, May 6 (IANS) The 2019 line-up of the iPhone should have a modified antenna structure, according to the famous Apple Ming-Chi Kuo analyst.
As part of the upcoming iPhones, Apple plans to use modified MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) PI material instead of using Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) material used in the antennas of the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR.
According to Kuo, the LCP limits the radio frequency (RF) performance of phones due to technological limitations and production problems, according to CNET reported on Sunday.
However, Kuo believes the Cupertino-based company in California can still use LCP as the main material for 5G antennas in the 2020 iPhone.
Meanwhile, production problems affecting the RF performance of LCP antennas will be solved, the report adds.
With its 2019 line-up, Apple should introduce long-awaited USB-C cables for devices and make improvements to iPhone camera performance.
