Aramco is conducting research with Chinese partners to reduce fuel emissions

Saudi Aramco and a number of Chinese companies, including Tsinghua University, Fu Jiefang Wuxi Diesel Engines and Shandong Chambrod Petrochemical Company, announced yesterday the launch of a research program to improve fuel, engines and discharges using post-treatment technologies .
This is the first time that an important energy company, a motor manufacturer, a petrochemical company and a prestigious university collaborate to develop advanced fuel technologies and engines to reduce emissions.
According to a statement released by Aramco, this cooperation aims to develop low-emission engines and fuel technologies that will keep pace with stricter emissions regulations.
In the context of this research program, Saudi Aramco will introduce new formulations of fuels that support its fuel-ignition combustion technology and develop carbon sequestration technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Partners have different roles in the development of advanced technologies for a sustainable future in the transport sector, with Chambrod Petrochemicals implementing refinery models, technical-economic analysis and production of new fuels for testing, while Fu Jiefang Wuxi supplies engine and system prototypes Post-processing, in addition to the implementation and testing of the integrated vehicle system.
This partnership is in line with partner strategies to create innovative and realistic solutions to reduce carbon emissions, designing more efficient and reliable engines and better fuel performance.
On the other hand, the Ing. Amin Al-Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, participated yesterday in a ceremony that laid the foundations of the Saudi Aramco Research and Development Center at the Science Park of the Moscow State University Lomonosov.
The center is the ninth Aramco research and development center outside the Kingdom, focused on the development of exploration and production techniques in the oil and gas sector and promotes cooperation in joint research activities, in particular with 39. Moscow State University and other Russian scientific institutions.

According to Reuters, the executive, who refused to be identified because he was not authorized to speak with the media, said that the Saudi quantities would be processed in the Quanzhou refinery in Fujian province, as well as the Hongren refinery in the Shandong Province and the Western Pacific petrochemical company in Dalian.
