Died on May 12, at the age of 94, Michel Piccoli leaves us with a legendary filmography. To pay tribute to him, Arte and France TV have put together a very special program.
This May 12, the iconic actor of French cinema, Michel Piccoli, left behind a grand career, between New Wave classics and Italian masterpieces. To remember this man who shaped part of the French seventh art, the television channels Arte and France TV organized special programs.

Arte and The extravagant Monsieur Piccoli
This Sunday at 8:55 p.m., Arte will unveil on its screens Things of life by Claude Sautet (1970) where Piccoli delivers his most tender and tragic performance at the same time by playing, alongside Romy Schneider, a quadra architect, weary and lost between two women.
Following this screening will come the documentary by Yves Jeuland The extravagant Mister Piccoli, which traces his masterful career. Already available on the Arte website until June 22, the documentary covers some 200 films by the actor in 70 years of work, from the stage of the theater to his most prestigious collaborations with Costa-Gavras, Demy , Hitchcock, through meetings with his favorite filmmakers Claude Sautet, Luis Buñuel and Marco Ferreri.
Finally on Arte.tv, the film by Jacques Rivette, The beautiful hazelnut, 1991 Cannes Festival Grand Prix is available until October 13.
