Asylum seekers are not allowed to enter, deportation stop

This was confirmed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, Helmut Tomac, on Friday afternoon. “Asylum seekers are denied entry if they cannot show a valid health certificate,” said Tomac.

Deportations and repatriations are currently “not suspended, but only possible to a limited extent,” said Tomac. If international air traffic collapsed, no deportation flights could be carried out.

In the detention centers, care is taken to ensure that detainees and guards are protected from infection.

There are isolated areas for newly admitted occupants.
