Analysts from an international consulting firm told how the situation in the blockchain sector will change next year
In December, Bitcoin's share of the digital money market exceeded 55%, it has grown gradually since January, when this percentage was less than 34%. Analysts from the international consulting firm A.Tearney believe that the positions of the first cryptocurrency will continue to strengthen, and investors will begin to lose interest in altcoins, writes Forbes.
According to the company's research, since 2019, the bitcoin dominance index will increase to 66%. The specialists explained this dynamic with the shares of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which required that the organizers of ICO AirFox and Paragon register their tokens as securities. This will adversely affect investors' attitude towards these assets.
Furthermore, the strengthening of Bitcoin's position was influenced by the controversial hardfork Bitcoin Cash, following which the cryptocurrency network was divided. Experts believe that investors do not invest in questionable assets unless there are certain reasons that may justify the risk.
In the summer, the founder of Fundstrat Tom Lee called Bitcoin the best shelter, "when neighbors do not inspire confidence". He added that the SEC did not recognize this cryptocurrency as a security, due to which it began to attract more attention than financial institutions.
