Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announced on Wednesday the issuance of a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 250 dirhams on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI.
The sale of this piece is scheduled from August 3, 2020, at the counters of Bank Al-Maghrib and at the store of its museum, BAM said in a press release.
This commemorative coin presents on the obverse the effigy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in addition to the mentions “محمد السادس” and “المملكة المغربية” written in Arabic, with the vintages 2020-1441 at the bottom.
On the reverse, the coin has the inscription “الذكرى الواحد و العشرون لتربع جلالة الملك على العرش” at the top in Arabic and at the bottom its French translation “21st anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI”, underlines the press release.
The center of the reverse of the coin contains the coat of arms of the Kingdom surrounded by a stylized representation of the throne and adorned with 21 stars symbolizing the 21st anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI. The center of the coin includes, in addition, the face value of the coin “” مائتان و خمسون درهما 250 “.
As for its technical characteristics, the alloy of the coin is composed of 925 ‰ of silver and 75 ‰ of copper. The weight of the coin is 28.28 grams, its diameter is 38.61 millimeters, a fluted edge as well as a “Proof” type strike.
