On September 20, the title that will finally represent Spain at the Hollywood Academy Awards will be announced, which will take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles next March 10.

The director JA Bayona, shortlisted by the Film Academy to represent Spain at the Oscars for his film ‘La sociedad de la nieve’, has defended his film, recalling that “there cannot be a better partner than Netflix for Hollywood”, in case she is finally chosen.

“They leave their skin, they love the film and we feel very lucky for this. Netflix bets fully on the film and is waiting if we go out to support it as much as possible: it knows what they do, they have won the Oscar for best foreign film several years and they are looking forward to being there with us”, he explained to the press after learning about his pre-selection.
