Bears sign a security contract with Clinton-Dix

Pro Bowl security Ha Ha Clinton-Dix signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, the team announced.

Clinton-Dix, 26, spent the last nine games of last season with the Washington Redskins after being bought in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. It became an immediate starter, replacing Montae Nicholson, and ended up with 65 tackles and three overtaking.

He sometimes fought with Washington, but the coaches appreciated his communication skills and he has great skills.

His agreement with the Bears, reported for the first time by the NFL network, comes after the team has lost the safety of starting Adrian Amos to the Packers in free agency. Amos has signed a four-year deal worth $ 37 million in Green Bay.

Clinton-Dix has 14 career interceptions, all with Green Bay, where he has been a starter since his beginner season and was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2016. He had three interceptions in seven games with the Packers before the half trade season with the Redskins.

The choice of the first round of 2014 (absolute 21st) had a series of 2,033 consecutive defensive games on the field with the Packers.

NFL network reports that Clinton-Dix has signed for $ 3.5 million. Clinton-Dix was offered elsewhere, the network said, but wanted to join the security of Bears Pro Bowl Eddie Jackson – his former teammate in Alabama – in Chicago.

John Keim of ESPN contributed to this report.
