SALEM, Oregon. (AP) – Oregon legislators are considering a proposal that requires children attending any school or children's facility in the state to be vaccinated, unless they have a doctor's note requesting an exemption for medical reasons.
House Bill 3063 would have freed himself of religious, personal or philosophical exemptions for all vaccines.
The move comes as Southwest Washington works to contain a measles epidemic that has made more than 65 people sick.
Hundreds of parents gathered in the Capitol to express their opposition to a controversial hearing at the start of this week. They defined the discriminatory and supra-governmental proposal.
Many doctors and health professionals have come to support the measure.
