Fernando Gomes sent a note of condolences for the death of Miranda Calha. Deputy between 1975 and 2019, he was also Secretary of State for Sport, being linked to the organization of the European-2004.

«On behalf of the Portuguese Football Federation, I would like to send the most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Miranda Calha, now deceased.
He held public positions with a recognized and elevated sense of state, and contributed generously to the development of the country, national sports and football.
His political action dignified him and the country. »
