Borussia Dortmund tops the German league

Borussia Dortmund snatched the top of the German Football League temporarily, by defeating its host Wolfsburg 3/1 in the thirteenth stage of the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund temporarily took the top spot in the German Football League, after overturning a goal from its host Wolfsburg to win 3/1 in the thirteenth stage of the Bundesliga.

At the Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg led with a goal through Wouter Vigorst in the second minute, but Emre Can equalized for Dortmund in the 35th minute from a penalty kick.

In the second half, young Dutch striker Doniel Mallin scored the second goal for Dortmund in the 55th minute.

And the Norwegian sniper Erling Halland returned after a period of absence, due to injury, and scored the third goal for Dortmund in the 81st minute.

Haaland has not participated in any match with Dortmund since the middle of last month due to a thigh injury, but he managed to score after participating as a substitute against Wolfsburg.

The win raised Dortmund’s tally to 30 points to temporarily advance to the top by two points over its closest rivals Bayern Munich, who faces Armenia Bielefeld later today.

Dortmund exited disappointingly from the Champions League, losing to its Portuguese host Sporting Lisbon.

Dortmund will meet its guest Bayern next week, in the top of the Bundesliga matches.


At Ronhof Sportpark, Hoffenheim defeated Grouther Fürth 6-3.

Togolese midfielder Elas Bebo scored three “hat-trick” goals for Hoffenheim in the 32nd, 62nd and 80th minutes, and young French striker Jorginho Rotter secured two goals in the 40th and 57th minutes.

The three goals for Fort came through Jamie Loehling, Timothy Tillman and Branimir Hergota, in the 22nd, 46th and 67th minutes.

The win raised Hoffenheim’s balance to 20 points in fifth place, and Fort remained in last place with one point.


At RheinEnergy Stadion, Cologne advanced through Dejan Ljubicic in the 55th minute, then Jonas Hoffmann equalized for Gladbach in the 74th minute.

Colin scored three more goals through Mark Alexander Oth, Ondrej Duda, and Sebastian Anderson, in the 77th, 78th and 90th minutes.
Colin raised his score to 18 points in tenth place, with a goal difference from Gladbach, who is in eleventh place.


At the Rorsstadion, Bochum reversed its goal against its guest, Freiburg, to win with two goals.

Freiburg took the lead through Philipp Leinhart in the 51st minute, but Sebastian Bolter equalized for Bochum in the 55th minute, and Milos Pantovic secured the victory in the 82nd minute.

The win raised Bochum’s tally to 16 points in twelfth place, and Freiburg remained in third place with 22 points.


At the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Augsburg imposed a 1-1 draw at its host, Hertha Berlin.

Marco Richter advanced with a goal for Hertha Berlin in the 40th minute, but Mikael Gregorich snatched the equalizer for Augsburg in stoppage time.

Herta raised his score to 14 points in 14th place, one point behind Augsburg, who is in 16th place.
