BOSE, a premium audio equipment company, announced on the 28th a new software update that improves the performance and expands the functions of ‘QC Earbuds (QuietComfort® Earbuds)’, a noise canceling fully wireless earphone.
In particular, the new ‘AWARE Mode’ with Bose’s proprietary technology called ActiveSense™ stands out. Awair Mode is a feature that automatically monitors, adjusts and balances the audio played through the earbuds and the surrounding sounds, providing a more comfortable and balanced volume, without the excessive noise encountered in the conversation mode of normal noise canceling. All sounds can be heard.
In addition, a new mode has been added that takes into account the user’s specific activities, such as the Spotify tab for instant launch of Spotify, EQ that allows you to adjust the audio according to your taste, and quick and easy switching between devices through the charging case. This version 2.0.7 software can be updated for free through the BOSE Music app for both new and existing customers.
Bose’s ActiveSense technology and various noise canceling modes make the moment more immersive
Bose’s newly introduced ActiveSense technology maintains the 11-level noise canceling function in the 0-10 range provided by the existing QC earbuds. However, in order to convey a clear meaning, the maximum noise cancellation level of 10 and the minimum level of 0 are changed to QUIET mode and aware mode, respectively, and both are automatically set to default values.
Awair mode lets you hear everything around you as if you didn’t have earphones in your ears. It uses digital signal processing technology and a QC microphone to let all sounds around you pass through the earbuds as it is, and quiet the world while making sharp noises. As a result, users do not need to manually operate the earbuds to better hear the music or podcast they were listening to as a nearby bus or train passed by.
In addition, users can implement the ‘always on’ state of noise canceling to suit a specific activity or location through the Bose Music app. In addition to the default Quiet Mode and Awake Mode, Commute, Focus, Home, Music, Outdoor, Relax, Run, Walk, Two of the Work and Workout modes can be added. The noise canceling level is set according to the user’s situation or preference in a ‘toggle and switch’ method by double-tapping the left earbud, and in this process, you can check which mode you are in through voice guidance.
Spotify Tabs and New Audio Controls for Music Lovers
There is also a new Spotify tab playback feature for music lovers. Spotify users can tap and hold the left earbud once to access recently played songs or personal playlists in the Spotify app. In addition, in the Bose Music app, you can select an EQ setting that suits your taste or manually manipulate the frequency in units of bass, mid, and treble.
Quickly switch between devices, made easier
With the 2.0.7 software update, switching between QC earbuds and multiple devices has become much easier and simpler. It stores up to 7 last paired devices, allowing users to connect QC earbuds directly to other devices without the need to manually disconnect existing connections.
On the other hand, the QC earbuds are the first fully wireless earphones released by Bose in September 2020, and set new standards in terms of noise cancellation and audio quality, as well as comfort and stability that can be worn all day long.
QC earbuds are currently available for purchase online and offline, and limited colors sandstone and stone blue have been newly added to the existing triple black and softstone colors. It provides up to 6 hours of battery life on a single charge, and can be fully charged two more times when the earbuds are placed in the wireless charging case for up to 12 hours of playback. In addition, it supports stable wireless connection of Bluetooth® 5.1 and has an IPX4 waterproof rating, so you can use it safely even on rainy days or sweat a lot.
