A judge denied actor Brad Pitt's request to be removed from a lawsuit alleging that the Make it Right Foundation built substandard homes in the New Orleans area that was hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina.
The Times-Picayune / The N ew Orleans lawyer reports that Pitt and other foundation directors asked the court to remove them from the cause, saying they were not personally responsible for the construction.
Judge Rachael Johnson denied the request last week.
Two homeowners filed the lawsuit. Their lawyer, Ron Austin, says that the houses built by the foundation in the Ninth lower district have infrastructure problems and that residents have reported being sick.
