Breitling goes back in time with its Premier Heritage collection

Breitling, the favorite watch brand of Brad Pitt, present in spring 2021 nothing less than “the most elegant and refined timepieces of the brand”, affirms the press release bluntly. It must be said that the watch brand founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling, the very one that has just inaugurated an avant-garde formula for renting watches on the internet, remembered that it is in old cuckoos that the most beautiful watches are made. “This is truly a rebirth of our heritage” insists CEO Georges Kern, unveiling the Premier Heritage Collection.

This collection includes six watches divided into three categories: the Chronograph, the Duograph and the Datora, each of which is of course COSC chronograph certified and waterproof up to 100 meters. Let’s start with the 40mm Premier Heritage Chronograph, which pushes vintage to the point of having to be manually wound, as in the 1940s. Its two sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock indicate quarter seconds, for one. , and 30 minutes, for the other. This beautiful watch comes in two colors: with a pistachio green dial that makes you want to eat an ice cream, or with a white-silver dial surrounded by 18-carat red gold. The prices are obviously not the same: pistachio costs € 7,400 and red gold € 16,200.

The second floor of Breitling’s Premier Heritage Collection, consists of two models, still hand-wound, one with a blue dial and stainless steel case and the other with a deep black dial on an 18k red gold case. The two watches measure 42 mm and offer an admirable split-seconds function, which allows two times to be measured simultaneously with the two superimposed second hands of the chronograph. To reset, the fourth hand automatically returns to superimpose itself on the first second hand at a devilish speed, which in itself is worth going to the store to admire it. Question price, the Steel version is at 9,350 €, and the box in red gold, at 19,200 €

Finally, the firmament, one might write, is reached with the Premier Heritage Datora of 42 mm which offers a display of the day, date and even moon phases in the third small dial at 6 o’clock. However, unlike space watches, this model is self-winding with approximately 48 hours of power reserve, and comes with a salmon dial on a steel or cream case on a red gold case.

Premier Heritage Chronograph  : 40 mm, Steel, manual winding, power reserve: 70 hours, water resistance: 100 m, price: steel € 7,400, red gold: € 16,200

The Premier Heritage Chronograph with its two sub-dials exists in a bench-silver dial with a gold case…

… Or in a delicious pistachio color.

The Premier Heritage Duographe also offers a fourth split-seconds hand, in black and red gold …

… Or the same for less with a steel case and a blue dial.

Finally, the Premier Heritage Datora here in a white dial and Red Gold case offers the date and the moon.

The same with a salmon dial.
