Bus traffic in Limburg this morning seriously disrupted by vandalism: “Hundreds of buses damaged, valve was cut”

The police have meanwhile launched an investigation. “De Lijn is currently still making an inventory of the damage, but we have counted 60 damaged buses in Hasselt alone,” says Dorien Baens of the Limburg Region Capital police zone. “The De Lijn depots are fenced and not accessible to unauthorized persons. So an investigation will have to show how people managed to get to those buses.”

In the meantime, PVs have been drawn up in the various affected police zones, and the court has opened an investigation. But no suspect is in sight yet, the prosecutor said.
