Caixaforum+ presents “Healthy Architectures”, the podcast on healing architecture. What role has architecture played in our health for centuries? Architecture shelters us from our birth until our death. It heals us, heals us and saves us. The design of our cities and our buildings, and even the way we decorate our homes, are designed to prevent diseases, plagues and pandemics. We are going to discover a social aspect of architecture that is rarely told. And we will do it with the architect Jaime Font, co-founder of the architecture studio Mesura.
In each of the seven episodes of this new podcast, Jaime Font will speak with a different guest about the role that architecture has played in our health throughout history. Font and his guests will approach and analyze, from this perspective, different spaces that are part of our daily lives: cities, homes, schools and hospitals, as well as the specific places (morgues, mausoleums, etc.) in which we perform farewell rituals for a loved one.
The seven episodes that make up “Architectures of Health” are as follows:
Episode 1: “Creating cities”, with Benedetta Tagliabue (architect).
Episode 2: “Houses that take care of us”, with Anna Ramos (director of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation).
Episode 3: “Health is inside”, with Berta Josa (interior designer)
Episode 4: “School: success or failure?”, with David Bueno (neuroscientist) and Josep Bohigas (architect)
Episode 5: “Hospitals for the sick”, with Patricio Martínez and Màxim Torruella (founding architects of the PMMT workshop)
Episode 6: “Where we say goodbye”, with Inma Puig (clinical psychologist)
Episode 7: “Thinking the Unthinkable”, with Areti Markopoulou (architect, researcher and urban technologist)
The two seasons of the “Creators” podcast, now available on CaixaForum+.
The two seasons of the “Créateurs” podcast are now available on the CaixaForum+ channel. “Creators” is a podcast that brings together the intimate testimonies of the great contemporary Spanish creators. This in-depth conversation series brings together the big names in capitals culture, whose work will impact generations. A treasure for our present and a heritage for our future.
“Creators” collects the words of these great figures of Spanish culture in the first person and from their place of life. In the eight episodes of the first season, filmmakers Isabel Coixet and Fernando Trueba, visual artist Antonio López, chef Juan Mari Arzak, international architects RCR Arquitectes and Patricia Urquiola, photographer Alberto García-Alix and writer Antonio Muñoz Molina talk about their life experiences, their creative processes and their vision of the world.
In the second season, the protagonists of the six episodes are the actor José Sacristán, the writer Rosa Montero, the singer Carmen Linares, the designer Javier Mariscal, the conductor Josep Pons and the visual artist Miquel Barceló. Each episode of “Creators” synthesizes in about fifty minutes the long in-depth interviews carried out with these personalities of Spanish creation and culture as part of the “Archive of Creators” project.
The “Archive of Creators” project was designed to preserve and pass on the legacy of the most precious people of Spanish culture through long interviews of about ten hours each, which are also available, in their entirety, on the CaixaForum+ channel.
