Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The social media WhatsApp Messenger is constantly updating its application for more than 2 billion users worldwide. After adding support for Facebook Messenger Rooms on the WhatsApp web, this application is reportedly releasing a new feature.
However, some of these features are still under development and WhatsApp hasn’t officially announced their release yet. However, reports indicate that the feature will be out soon. Here are details of the new WhatsApp features that will be coming out in the near future:
Search Web Options
WhatsApp has now added a new feature to help you debunk viral or frequently forwarded messages to stop the spread of fake news or hoaxes and misinformation.
Now, with the launch of its ‘Search the web’ feature, WhatsApp will let users check the authenticity of forwarded messages to avoid misinformation, according to a WhatsApp blog post.
Web search is being launched starting Sunday (9/8/2020) in Brazil, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, UK, and the United States for the latest versions of WhatsApp for Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web.

Lost or Expired Messages
According to WABetaInfo quoted from Livemint, the website that tracks the latest updates to the beta version of WhatsApp has rediscovered a feature that allows users to send lost text messages after a certain period of time.
When the feature was first discovered by WABetaInfo, no details were provided to the user. However, the latest update suggests that WhatsApp may have completed the feature. WhatsApp will probably introduce the feature soon in a future update.
Multiple Device Support
WhatsApp has been working on a multi-device support feature for some time to come. This new feature will allow users to access WhatsApp on multiple devices such as smartphones or tablets with one account.
This feature has been under development for several months, seeing the company constantly pushing new Beta releases, which could indicate that the feature will roll out soon.
WABetaInfo shares the same screenshot showing the Linked Devices feature, which indicates that a user may be able to link multiple devices with the same account.
Picture-In-Picture Support for ShareChat Videos
According to reports, WhatsApp is working on adding picture-in-picture support for the ShareChat video app on Android and iOS smartphones. Once this feature is launched, WhatsApp users will be able to watch ShareChat Videos in picture-in-picture mode, just like when they watch YouTube videos.
Finally, WhatsApp will launch its payment service in India, with National Payments Corp. of India (NPCI) notified the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) that this social media platform has met data localization requirements.
