Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen announced that his country is looking for young people to work and that one million 80 thousand new permanent residents will be admitted from 2019 to 2021.
According to the newspaper TimeDuring the beginning of the establishment of an immigration program, Hussen assured that one of the purposes of the program is “to maintain our workforce, support our economic growth and stimulate innovation.”
This initiative is part of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, which is designed to attract young, skilled immigrants to four Canadian provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
Additionally, the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program also seeks to employ immigrants in small communities outside the Atlantic region, with the exception of Quebec. These include: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.
