Carlos Pumares, journalist and film critic, has died at the age of 80.
The film critic and radio host made a name for himself in the ’80s thanks to his show star dust, a cinematographic space in the early morning in which, with his peculiar style, he analyzed films and answered calls from listeners.
Born in Portugalete on September 29, 1943, Pumares had a degree in Physical Sciences, he was a film advisor for the RTVE program The keywhich was presented and directed by journalist José Luis Balbín.
In the early 1980s he began presenting the radio program star dustalmost like an experiment, since it was the first time in that medium that it opted for a format oriented towards cinema and other arts such as theater.
Currently, Pumares was a film critic for the newspaper The reasonpresents on Radio Voz natural health -daily space dedicated to natural medicine-, maintained a blog to comment on news related to the world of cinema, and was a regular collaborator and member of the morning show Without going further from Aragón TV. In addition, he made a weekly program on the channel Veo 7 (TDT) called I watch cinema.
